The first volume of Little Laurie’s Science Stories is on the way!
“The Day the Sun Forgot To Wake” introduces Little Laurie, a curious girl who has lots of questions about how the world around her works. In this book, Little Laurie will wake up to discover the sun forgot to wake up with her. Fortunately, her mom helps explain how to tell time, and how the Earth and Sun move to create daytime and nighttime.
Little Laurie’s Science Stories, by author, educator, and environmentalist Renée Bandes, are based on Renée’s experiences as a child, and the questions her students ask each day.
Each of Little Laurie’s Science Stories includes activities for kids and their parents to help dive deeper into the topic while encouraging scientific thought and understanding in young readers from toddlers through grade two.
Each of the books also includes resources for educators, such as which Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) can be referenced if these books are used in the classroom.
“The Day the Sun Forgot To Wake” is currently being illustrated and edited. Stay tuned for news about release dates on Amazon!
